Is this allowed by Instagram and Facebook?

Yes. SocialAutoDM uses Meta’s official Instagram and Facebook APIs — the same private-reply feature Meta built for businesses to answer comments by DM. It follows the platform’s rules for you: one private reply per comment and messaging only inside the windows Meta allows. No passwords, no scraping, no browser bots.

What accounts does it work with?

Instagram Business or Creator (professional) accounts, and Facebook Pages you manage. Switching Instagram to a professional account is free and takes a minute; you’ll also need “Allow access to messages” turned on in your Instagram message settings.

Can I choose which posts it runs on?

Yes. Each rule targets either one specific post or all of your posts, and matches the keyword exactly, anywhere in the comment, or with a custom pattern.

Can people be asked to follow before getting the link?

You can turn on reply-to-unlock: the first DM asks them to follow and reply, and the link only goes out once they reply. Instagram doesn’t let any tool verify a follow, so it’s a friendly ask rather than a hard gate.
